Many thanks to Val for the photocopies of her diary. Val herself
acknowledges the input of the other people on the safari. This was often done around the
camp fire during a sundowner and she comments that some questionable spellings may be
alcohol related! Any other errors (particularly lack of commas) are entirely the authors. Thanks also to Val, Bill and Kenneth for their fine work in
