Greenspace is any vegetated land, water or geological feature within and around built areas. The Greenspace for Communities Initiative will improve the extent and quality of greenspace management in and around Scotland's settlements. The Initiative builds on the experience of earlier projects focussed on the countryside around towns and cities. The key aims are to create greener settlements, enhance biodiversity in and around settlements, making settlements attractive and distinctive and encouraging better use of green space to contribute towards more sustainable settlements.
