The 3 main objectives of Kilmacolm Civic Trust are:

  • To stimulate public interest in and care for the beauty, history and character of the parish of Kilmacolm, its villages and their surroundings
  • To encourage the preservation, development and improvement of features of general public amenity or historic interest
  • To encourage high standards of architecture and town planning

The work of the Civic Trust goes on, much of it behind the scenes, day and daily. They act to the best of their ability on behalf of the membership of the Trust and also on behalf of the wider communities of Kilmacolm and Quarrier's Village and surrounding areas, which together all constitute Ward 1 of Inverclyde Council. In order to be able to:

  • continue to carry out their normal work on planning applications
  • meet the ever increasing workload, which has escalated dramatically in recent years
  • be proactive as well as reactive, in order to keep up with and ahead of developments
  • take on 'oneoff' events, such as the impending Local Plan Public Inquiry
  • continue to make improvements and efficiencies in informing the membership
  • keep adequate financial reserves as a fighting fund for the future

They need your help to continue to work on behalf of the membership and wider community.

This can be quite simply by joining the Civic Trust.
