This part of the Western Isles has an appeal all of its own. The islands seem to be split down the middle: boggy moors and craggy hills dominate the east, whilst the west is softened by a sandy coastline and green pasture.

	Berneray Cottage The island of Berneray is situated at the top of North Uist and is now connected by a causeway. At the north west end there is this cottage and view.
	Loch Hosta Situated right next to the 'main' road is this beautiful loch.
	The 'Gloamin' Scotland is famous for the 'gloamin', this is the extended afterglow after the sun has set. It is particularly good in the months of June and July.
	North Uist Here North Uist is viewed across the 'Oitir Mhor' over which the causeway links it to Benbecula.
