Using the Reflecta DigitDia 4000

The clubs scanner can be used to scan in your existing slide presentations.  The scanner can scan up to 50 x 35mm slides    at one time - taking about 3 minutes per slide (so you don't sit and watch it!)

There are things that must be done in a set order for the scanner to perform properly,  and I hope that this page will get you up and running as soon as possible.

Here is a suggested method of operation.

Ensure that all versions of the Cyber-X software have been removed from you PC by un-installing them.

Download this copy of Cyber-X and save to your PC (I would suggest that everyone should have a folder called 'software' and this should be the location for all software that you ever download - it's easier to find!)

Ensure that the DigitDia 4000 is switched OFF and disconnected from your PC.

Load the software that you downloaded.  Reboot if prompted.

Start the DigitDia 4000 - DO NOT CONNECT to the PC after a while it will operate the slide change arm a few times and then will stop with the slide change arm in the IN position and the green light will stop flashing (this can take from 3 - 12minutes!)

ONLY when the DigitDia 4000 is ready - connect the USB to your PC and the PC should confirm with the usual USB noise that it 'has found new hardware' and then it will seek out and load the drivers for it.

You can now open the Cyber-X software and use it (no instructions here for that).

Alternatively you can yourself a big favour and get yourself a copy of VueScan which will obtain scans of a superb quality.  If using VueScan you can download this file that will set up VueScan to scan perfectly each time on the club's DigitDia 4000.  This file will not work on any other scanner that you may have.

When installed VueScan sets itself up into its own directory and this is where to place the diaporama.inf file.

Using VueScan

Only when the scanner is stable as above - start VueScan.

First install the diaporama.inf file File>Load Options>diaporama.inf

More to come....
